For Educators
Undergraduate Education
In 2020 I was approached by the Middle Ages for Educators project and asked to create a video showing people how to use my website for teaching. If you are interested in incorporating this website into an undergraduate class, you can watch the video below for a complete guide to navigating the website and tips on strategies for using it for teaching. Click here for the full discussion questions and further reading suggestions hosted on the Middle Ages for Educators website. See also the Women by Theme section of my website, which is designed to give you ideas for comparative readings and discussions.
Secondary Education
While the above materials are designed with undergraduate education in mind, this website could also be suitable for secondary education. However, I am not certified to advise on applications of my website in secondary schools. There are occasional references to sex on my website where relevant to an individual story, such as Sahiqat or Kokannon, but there are no graphic descriptions of violence anywhere on the website. If you do decide to use this website for education of secondary-age pupils, please keep in mind that some of the links on the Resources section may be written with an adult audience in mind.
Other Educational Projects
If you would like to talk to me about a more specific educational collaboration, please get in touch using the Contact Form. I'm happy to translate any of the women's profiles into Spanish on request. And if you have used Women of 1000 in your teaching, I would LOVE to hear from you about how it went!
